Sports

Competitive sport has a high profile as it encourages resilience, endurance and enables children to develop skills in working alongside others. Children are divided into four houses in school and inter-house competitions take place throughout the winter. These are complimented by the summer sports day featuring all pupils.

Pupils are encouraged to join sporting clubs and inter-school events are planned for every year group e.g. cross-country, netball, rugby or multi-sports. Some events are attended by selected teams; others are open to all pupils within a key stage or year.

Close relationships with Bassingbourn Village College have also enabled us to receive support from secondary sports specialists and to use their facilities to offer additional sports such as trampolining.

Sadly it is still pouring with rain. With the rain overnight we can't ensure a dry and safe field or playground so we are, regretfully cancelling Sports Day. If the weather improves we will aim to allow KS2 children to take part in some sports this
